Stu is responsible for all of the Company's commodity marketing activities, plus initiatives associated with extending Pembina's value chain such as the proposed integrated propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene facility and the Jordan Cove LNG projects as well as various other major projects.
Stu's most recent position was Senior Vice President, NGL and Natural Gas Facilities. He also previously held the position of Vice President, Gas Services, when he joined Pembina in 2009. He oversaw the business unit through a period of dramatic growth, and helped establish it as one of Pembina’s core businesses. In his time as leader of the Gas Services business unit, Stu oversaw the planning and construction of three gas plants and multiple enhanced-recovery projects, which have served to increase Pembina’s gas liquids throughput.
Stu is a professional geologist with more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a specific focus on the gas processing sector. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and a minor in Geophysics.
Following graduation, Stu developed his geologic, strategic planning and business development skills in various capacities while at Westcoast Energy Inc., NOVA Corporation, TransCanada PipeLines Ltd., VISTA Midstream Solutions and Talisman Energy. While at VISTA, Stu served as Vice President, Supply, and was responsible for managing the commercial contracts for the Cutbank Complex, which VISTA then sold to Talisman in August of 2003. At Talisman, Stu held several managerial roles where he was responsible for the Cutbank facility, but also their sour gas pipelines and midstream operations. Talisman sold the Cutbank Complex to Pembina in 2009.
