Pembina Pipeline raises nearly $2 Million for United Way of Calgary and Area
CALGARY, Nov. 20, 2014 /CNW/ - Pembina Pipeline Corporation ("Pembina" or "the Company") (TSX: PPL; NYSE: PBA) is proud to present the United Way of Calgary and Area with $1,927,432.72 – the fruits of the Company's employee-driven fundraising campaign.
Pembina's 500+ Calgary employees, contractors, board members and retirees raised funds through a combination of pledges and organized activities, which included a mini-sticks hockey tournament, fun money casino night, silent auction and executive Family Feud. All proceeds were fully matched by the Company.
Fun and games aside, staff also provided direct support to the community through the Company's Days of Caring activities and a winter clothing drive. Pembina volunteers helped cover graffiti with a fresh coat of paint at The Alex, served a hot meal at the Calgary Drop in & Rehab Centre (The DI) and collected winter clothing for The Alex and the Children's Cottage Society.
"Pembina has been supporting the United Way of Calgary and Area for over 30 years. The generosity and support our employees show towards the organization is a special part of our family culture," explains Mick Dilger, Pembina President and CEO. "We are all proud Calgarians; our United Way campaign is one way we can give back to the community while supporting the areas of greatest need within our city."
