Community Investment

Giving Back, Together

In 2025, Pembina employees supported communities across our operations by donating both their time and talents. From large group volunteer days to ongoing partnerships, teams rolled up their sleeves to help address local needs.

Together, employees contributed over 5,500 hours volunteer hours. While each location responded to local needs in its own way, teams were connected by a shared purpose - to help where it matters most. Teams took part in highway and garden clean-ups, tree planting, breakfast programs, food bank shifts, BBQs, youth education events, and countless other initiatives. Across the company, our volunteer efforts focused on supporting children and families, advancing inclusion and reconciliation, and strengthening food security and community wellbeing. Collectively, these efforts show that being kind is a big part of what makes Pembina great.

The Pembina Actions That Help (PATH) program is at the heart of Pembina’s community investment efforts. PATH connects employees to meaningful volunteer opportunities, organizes giving campaigns and amplifies generosity through donation matching, and rewards for personal volunteer hours.

Through PATH, Pembina teams from Drayton Valley, Redwater, Sherwood Park, and Whitecourt - across Alberta’s Industrial Heartland area - came together to support Variety The Children's Charity of Alberta Association’s Go Baby Go initiative - one of Pembina’s most anticipated volunteer opportunities of the year.  Go Baby Go supports children living with limited mobility by providing customized ride-on cars equipped with adaptive features such as push-button switches, supportive seating and communication devices helping children to move independently in ways that they otherwise would not be able to do on their own.

Pembina employees have a hands-on role, helping to build and adapt these cars to meet each child’s specific needs. While the cars bring joy and fun, the impact goes far beyond play, supporting physical development, building muscle control and memory, and helping children explore and engage with the world around them.

Mike Karach, District Manager, Northern Lights from the Drayton Valley office shared: “As a volunteer for Variety’s Go Baby Go, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the joy and independence these adapted cars bring to children with limited mobility. Knowing we’re helping them explore the world in ways they couldn’t before is truly heartwarming and inspiring."

Our partnership with Go Baby Go began in 2022, and members of our team, from Drayton Valley to Fort McMurray, have come together in a remarkable display of collaboration to volunteer. This partnership highlights the power of teamwork, with our people not only working together to build customized cars but also actively creating opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community, fostering a shared commitment to making a difference.

Kari Richardson, Director of Partnerships at Variety shared: “Go Baby Go is one of the most joyful and impactful programs we offer. When sponsors and volunteers come together to adapt these ride‑on cars, they’re not just creating something fun — they’re creating opportunities. Pembina has been an instrumental partner in making this possible. Their commitment to community and their support for vulnerable children has strengthened this program and many others we deliver. With partners like Pembina, we can continue expanding Go Baby Go across the province, so more families experience the freedom, inclusion, and joy this program brings."

Pembina’s 2025 community investment demonstrates what’s possible when intention meets action. In addition to supporting employee volunteering, in 2025, Pembina was proud to contribute $8.3 million in direct cash investments to community organizations focused on strong Indigenous communities, safe, inclusive and connected communities, and creating a sustainable future. Combined with $3 million in indirect investments, including employee volunteer hours, Pembina’s total community investment footprint reached $11.3 million.

From hands on volunteering to strategic investments, this impact was powered by employees who care deeply about where they live and work. Whether building adaptive cars, supporting families or strengthening food security, each act of giving helped create meaningful change. It’s this shared commitment—to show up, lend a hand and make a difference—that continues to define Pembina as a trusted community partner.
